Speaking at the Salem County Art League

Last night I had the honor of being the guest speaker at the Salem County Art League meeting. I explained the different types of acrylic paints, mediums, and shared some of my favorite supplies and tricks. I also walked through the creation of “Sickler’s Mack” and explained my process from beginning to end. It was great to meet so many other artists and answer their questions about my favorite medium. 🎨

Honorary Degree from Salem Tech FFA

Last week I was presented with an Honorary Chapter Degree from the Salem Tech FFA Chapter for my contributions to their chapter. It was an enjoyable evening to share their accomplishments and memories from this past year. The food was delicious and the camaraderie was palpable between this amazing group!

I am so happy to have been able to help these young people, who are about to embark on their next journey in life! This honor is so special to me since Salem County Vocational Technical School is one of my high school Alma Maters.

Thank you to Mrs. DiTizio for collaborating and helping with the 2019 Salem County Farmlands Calendar. And a special thank you to my customers who purchased a calendar, for not only supporting my artwork but also assisting young farmer education!

The Salem Oak

One week ago, the historic Salem Oak toppled over. The 600 year old white oak was where John Fenwick signed a treaty with local Lenni Lenape Indians in 1675. It has, and always will be, a symbol of our county. 🌳

In 2015, I created this painting of the mighty oak for the Arts in Bloom Studio Tour. That year, the tour’s theme was artwork inspired by or made with the Salem Oak. (Clippings of the Oak were offered to artists to create with) I completed the painting in just one week and it is has been one of my favorite paintings for so many reasons.
