Strobe Signature Artist Exhibition

“Caught in a Country Moment" and "Caught in Another Country Moment" will be on display for the very first time TOGETHER at the Art C Strobe Signature Artists' Exhibit. The show takes place at the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts in Millville from September 18 - October 9. Thirty-seven talented artists will be part of the show with a live exhibit and safe opening reception on September 18th from 6-9 pm with music in the courtyard by Lizz Sooy.

Painting Progression: Caught in Another Country Moment

Introducing my new painting, “Caught in Another Country Moment” In Aldine, the dairy farmers of Triangle Farm would walk their cows down the street twice a day. Locals knew this daily ritual as “The Cow Parade” which would stop traffic at the intersection and cause commuters to wait for the cows to walk from the field to the barn for milking. I absolutely loved watching the cows walk down the road and would often make sure to be there around the time that they would walking. I took the reference picture for this painting in March of 2009. The farmers retired and the cow parade has since ended. I wanted to create this painting to honor the farmer’s legacy and preserve this special memory held by so many people. This is the second painting in the series and features the Thomas family house.

4th Annual Pitman Art Stroll

"Caught in a Country Moment" was selected to be included in the 4th Annual Pitman Art Stroll. Look for the banner along Broadway and see the original painting in the Pitman Art Gallery and Art Center from September 6-28th. The opening reception is September 6th from 6-9PM. I am so grateful and excited to for this opportunity to show my work in the town of Pitman!

2019 Salem County Farmlands Calendar

The 2019 Salem County Farmlands Calendar is a collection of photographs by me, Kimberly English, featuring the farmers and farmland of Salem County. $5 of each calendar sold will be donated to the Salem Vo-Tech Future Farmers of America Program. A great holiday gift that gives back to our farming community!

Earlier this year I reached out to last year's calendar customers to ask for their feedback on the ordering process, quality, and content. I received wonderful ideas and I took them to heart when designing this year's calendar. Many people requested the preview of the previous and next month on the calendar grid and I have to agree that that is a hand feature so I incorporated that into this year's design. I continued to choose one photo per month as it was almost unanimous that was enjoyed by customers. I like that it gives the customer the opportunity to frame the photo(s) if they choose after the calendar has been used. A new feature this year: I added photos along the side the calendar grid. I really like this update and I hope that you do, too!

Miniature Painting: Sunday Stars II

My latest painting, Sunday Stars II, is another miniature canvas: 3" x 3". The photograph in which I worked from again came from my in-laws driveway (They have so many inspirational views!). It was taken on the same day as the photograph for Sunday Stars I but from a different angle.

Miniature Painting: Sunday Stars I

Behold! My latest painting: Sunday Stars I. This painting is a on a 3" x 3" canvas. I have never worked this small and wanted to try after seeing the artwork of Debbie Shirley. I found her through Etsy and began following her blog and Facebook page. Her artwork is usually 4" x 4" and depicts areas where she lives; New England.

In the beginning of June I came across Gallery 50's miniature art competition on their website. I called and requested more information and after reading the requirements thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try working small, like Debbie Shirley.
